Tell Me One Thing

When we get towards the end of a day that has allowed us to only pour out and not stop to be poured into- we feel weary. It is unreal the amount of burden we carry and all of the sudden have to drop walking out of the office and into the home. For those of us that are mama’s it’s honestly like taking one bag off your shoulder and replacing it with another. What do we do when we are in a place where the weariness feels consuming?

We stop- take a breath- and tell ourselves one thing. One thing that has been a blessing or positive through out our day. Today, it is the small moment I saw a staff member who has a hard time with servant leadership completely switch gears and allow for everyone else’s needs before their own. That’s it. The yucky goes to one side and I focus on the God glorifying part of the day. We so easily get caught up in the drama of our own sin and even other’s sin that we can’t stir the ship back to glory. This is exactly what just lights a spark for the enemy to jump in and spray with lighter fluid.

Before you list off all the reasons the day was terrible, all the things you could’ve done differently or all the things that didn’t allow for a minute to breath- humble yourself to a moment of gratitude to our great God. He allowed us to enjoy another day, to make more of His Kingdom some how. That is everything.

Let’s try it. Tell me one thing.
